Position Summary

This is a full-time seasonal position with CREA, LLC (CREA), for approximately 12 weeks during the summer months. The primary responsibilities of this position are financial model development, support and database integration.  The candidate will be proficient in Excel and will work as part of a team building and maintaining a proprietary suite of financial analysis tools and systems used to analyze and report on affordable housing, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investments.  The candidate will be charged with a wide range of analytical tasks and must have the ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others.  Specific responsibilities include:

Financial Model Development

  • Assist with development and maintenance of version-controlled financial model templates in Excel
  • Track and test changes to the financial models and database components, and requests for future improvements
  • Assist with development and maintenance of Visual Basic, C# (.NET), Visual Basic (VBA), SQL, and VSTO components used for database integration

Financial Model Support

  • Respond to helpdesk and other requests related to financial models and Excel;
  • Customize individual financial models for ad hoc transactions

Financial Model Releases

  • Execute testing plans prior to the release of new versions
  • Draft release notes and announcements

 

Requirements

This position requires junior or senior standing towards a bachelor’s degree or active enrollment in a master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, computer science or a related field. Candidate must have Excel expertise and programming skills, some experience working with Excel add-ins or macros, some experience integrating Excel with databases.  Work with Excel tables and charts and automating other Microsoft Office applications would be helpful. Technical experience with Visual Basic (VBA), C#, .NET, SQL, and Visual Studio is a plus.  Communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across CREA departments for certain projects.   Candidate must possess and be able to demonstrate effectiveness with each of the following Key Attributes.
