Helping the Heartland

By: Jeff Whiting

As spring turns to summer, our thoughts and prayers stay with all of those who have suffered during the recent outbreak of tornados in Oklahoma.  To help those who were displaced by the disasters, the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) donated $10,000 to the relief efforts for the affected areas of Oklahoma City.

The sudden loss of life and property is incomprehensible, but we believe our physical distance from these tragedies should not serve as a deterrent from helping in any way we can.

This coalition is a national organization and we stand firm in our belief that as such, we should be doing our best to impart good on a national scale. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire membership of AHTCC, I hope that our contribution to the recovery efforts positively impacts those who need it most.

As we continue our efforts to sustain and enhance the Low Income Housing Tax Credit with the 113th Congress, let us all take a moment to remember those who are the true beneficiaries of this successful program: the residents.
